Malachi 3:3 says: "He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver."

This verse puzzled some women in a Bible study and they wondered what this statement meant about the character and nature of God.
One of the women offered to find out the process of refining silver and get back to the group at their next Bible Study.
That week, the woman called a silversmith and made an appointment to watch him at work. She didn't mention anything about the reason for her interest beyond her curiosity about the process of refining Silver.
As she watched the silversmith, he held a piece of silver over the fire and let it heat up. He explained that in refining silver, one needed to hold the silver in the middle of the fire where the flames were hottest as to burn away all the impurities.
The woman thought about God holding us in such a hot spot; then she thought again about the verse that says: "He sits as a refiner and purifier of silver." She asked the silversmith if it was true that he had to sit there in front of the fire the whole time the silver was being refined.
The man answered that yes, he not only had to sit there holding the silver, but he had to keep his eyes on the silver the entire time it was in the fire. If the silver was left a moment too long in the flames, it would be destroyed.
The woman was silent for a moment. Then she asked the silversmith, "How do you know when the silver is fully refined?"

He smiled at her and answered, "Oh, that's easy -- when I see my image in it."

It's been a long time since i blog.
No one sees my blog, so unpopular :(
JC life is really taxing guys.
All the tests known are finally over
Finally can "let me hair down" for awhile, just for awhile.

The class chose me to be the CG chairperson which is a really important role.
I think i should step up more and be more like the leader of the class.
Hearing what my math teacher had commented about our class being low in self confidence, not having the drive to do well in everything they do.

I need help guys on how to boost their morale and excel together as a class :)

Hello guys i am at New York at this moment. I went back in time i am now 1 day behind you guys in Singapore. Its about 11 going to 12 the 28th of nov 2008. Its very cold here about 7 degrees. It will be even colder when we visit the Nigera Falls which is said to be frozen. lol then cannot see the waterfall flowing. I am suppose to be sleeping now, trying to adjust to the timing here. Lucky there is free internet in this hotel if not i am not able to do this. This is my first time here. The plane flight is really long and there is really no entertainment other than watching the movies i prepared in my laptop and reading a story book. Reached new york about 7.05 pm new york time. Still have to wait till next morning before the fun starts. got to go guys its about 1am here. bye

Haha finally the O levels are over, a small hurdle in my life. I must stay strong for the other bigger hurdles in life. Really happy Rachel came to visit my blog. Haha i thought my blog was only for me to read. Time passed really fast, going to JC le next year. Had a very special year though, many different things happened in my life, experienced different emotions. A bit of love too haha. Will be having a class gathering with 4e1 later. Hi guys it has been a long time since i came to blog. Been really busy this whole time. Its the 4th day of our 1 week holiday and for us very unlucky, we have exams immediataly on Monday. Haix that will be our prelims and after that the final test, the O levels. At least really took sometime off to enjoy myself, played badminton then now whole body ache lol then went to a farewell night in school for the senior leaders. Hmm i can say that our juniors really look funny on stage, they were really cute. Had a fun time there. Stayed up till 2.30 am just to finish this movie A walk to remember. It was a very touching story how this one girl called Jamie who changed this guy who was once a very notorious one in the school. He did something very wrong and was send for community work and there was where he got to know her... The ending was super touching lor gotta go watch yourself guys. It wun be nice to tell you.

Today was a hectic day.. went to sch early in the morning for biology lessons. Come to night we went for the movie " The Dark Knight" the second edition of Batman. It was really a good show. There is one phrase i heard which is quite puzzling : " You either die a hero or live long enough to become a villain" Before that we were SUPPOSED to go for bowling but Assad got a queue which needed a long wait and we ended up going to the arcade. Had too much fun that we forgot about the time and we panic as we had not have our dinner haha.

Hey guys. there was one thing i found out...girls are getting more and more violent and we guys can't do anything about it. Ytd i went to church cos i had a chance to learn new maths techniques and topics. And there was this girl called Lindy, she was kind of friendly and everything i saw her she would pinge me it was today that i found out i had suffered mulitiple injuries, a total of about 7 blue blacks. OMG i look at the mirror than chua dio T.T. Nvm i still find her a great person though lol. I must be crazy right?

Enough about her la ah. Today had another round of Adam Khoo's booster programme. there came Leroy again =). I learnt quite about concentration techniques and had alot of laughter and joy too. Had a great 2 hr plus there. Hai ya test test test this whole week.. got to go

How is the DNA Organized Into Chromosomes?

The genetic information in all living things is stored in DNA which is present in chromosomes. Adenine, thymine, guanine and cytosine (A, T, G, and C) molecules make up the DNA. They contain coded information that is required to construct a living organism and to direct the way it functions. The sequences of these four bases, A, T, G, and C, determine how you differ from other individuals and from other living things. The bases are paired, A with T, and G with C. We often use the term "base pairs", since the presence of the base A presupposes the presence of a T on the other side of the DNA molecule.

The DNA in each of your cells contains 3 billion (3,000,000,000) of these base pairs. To get a sense of how big that number is, imagine we are going to type out your genetic code in the four letters, A, T, G, and C. We can get about 1500 letters on each page. After writing out 400 of these pages, we'll bind those pages in a book. It will take 5,000 books to complete the sequence of bases present in your DNA.

Most of the pages in your 5,000 book library are similar or identical to the pages of another human. In other words, the majority of your DNA is identical to that of other humans. A small percentage is different and that is what makes you unique. Some of those differences give us our particular hair color, finger length, ear shape, and rate of metabolism. Other variations can lead to inherited diseases.

Those 3 billion base pairs make up 6 feet of DNA and are organized into 46 chromosomes or 23 pairs of chromosomes. You receive 23 chromosomes from each of your parents. Each set of 23 chromosomes contains a complete set (with one exception noted below) of instructions (genes) for how to assemble a human. Thus you get a pair of each of your genes. You characteristics depend on the interaction of those pairs of genes.

Twenty-two of the pairs of chromosomes are similar in males and females. These are called autosomes. The 23rd pair is different. A female has two X chromosomes and a male has an X and a Y chromosome. Because they are different in males and females, we call the X and Y, sex chromosomes.

The Y chromosome triggers the development of male characteristics. It has virtually no information beyond what is required to set maleness in motion. Other than that, the Y chromosome is a blank.

The X chromosome has almost nothing to do with femaleness. Instead, it has genes with information for all sorts of characteristics need by both males and females. For example, a gene that is important in the functioning of the brain, the gene that causes fragile X syndrome, is located on the X chromosome.

It might seem that since females have two X chromosomes, they would make too much of the proteins coded for on those chromosomes or males might not make enough. Females compensate for this difference by turning off one of their X chromosomes in each of their cells by a process called methylation. This methylation plays a role in determining the impact of fragile X on females. Fragile X syndrome itself involves methylation that turns off the FMR1 gene.

When a male produces sperm, he divides up his pairs of chromosomes so that each sperm receives one each of the 22 autosomes. They also receive either an X chromosome, creating a daughter, or a Y chromosome, creating a son.

When a female produces eggs, she divides up her pairs of chromosomes also. All her eggs get an X chromosome.

Each egg and sperm will get a number 1 chromosome, a number 2 chromosome, etc. However, the process of selecting which number 1 chromosome is used is random. Thus, each egg or sperm you produce has a different combination of the chromosomes you received from your mother and father.

Our nervous system is made up of axons which carries the nerve impulses. In a spinal injury those axons are cut or crushed and they die. So thay stop carrying those impulses and messages don't get transmitted from the brain to the other parts of the body. Now you hear that nerves don't regenerate. That's not completely true. Our peripheral nervous system--like our arms and legs--damaged axons can grow back. But in the central nervous system--the brain and the spinal cord--they don't. At least they don't grow on their own. So when you cut your finger, when the skin grows back you regain your sense of touch. In the spinal cord that doesn't happen. But there are things that we are learning that can regrow them. We attack SCI on all fronts. We use traditional decompression surgury to reconstruct the bony structure of the vertebrae themselves and to protect the site where your injury occured. Then we graft two things into the site of the injury occured: one is some of the patient's own peripheral nervous system tissue and the other substance we use is some embryonic central nervous system cells(which are taken from sharks as they are more smilar to humans then other animals.

Hmm learnt something about how our human body push pass its limits. It is when you are in danger or losing your life that your body really pushes past its limits, usually we only use about 1/3 of our muscles. I also learnt there is something called instant energy is form from AP or stored in AP(not sure) where we store in our muscles which is used in emergency. Even a normal human can break records =). In terms of strength, there is always a superhero in our human body. The human body is really mysterious. It is how you cope with the pain edurance rather than giving up after getting hit in a soccer match.

Finally all the major papers are over. Felt very happy and relaxed after todays last paper which is a maths paper which i was able to finish confidently=). Ya went to watch iron man later on at 9pm and it was quite a nice show, i love the technologies, they are so advanced. Tony stark was really a genius (Stark industries). ONe thing i always remember, he said this:" i have always been creating weapons which was once used to protect the americans but they are used in the wrong ways as mass destruction and many innocent lives have been lost, A weapon creating industry does not create weapons lol. I have come to light and believe in the right path and i am not crazy i am just following my heart and doing the right thing."

Hmmmm. Thinking back i have not talked about my birthday. I had different experience before my birthday, on my birthday and after my birthday. I am now 16 years old. Let me see...what i have been doing the past 16 years...lol anything constructive? Yea only studying and loveing my family. I am still the same old shy guy who i use to be. I can say i have become more appreciative about the things around me. 2 days before my birthday, my whole family went to a seafood restuarant to celebrate my birthday. My mum even bought me a ice cream cake which is extremely delicious. Literally my whole family went, my grandmother uncles and aunties. My lovely couins and silibings were there too. We had a scrumptious dinner with many dishes of my fravourite. Most importantly, the crabs tasted super nice. I was really touched at the same time felt very happy and joyful, in seven heaven. I really wished this could continue on forever=). One sentence for my loving family " I really love you all, thank you for all you all have done for me "

On tuesday was my birthday 22/4/08. I went to school with a sore throat. Sad right, having a sore throat on my birthday. My lovely 4E1 class made a card for me which had many encouraging words thanks. They too gave me a present. A book on the art of healing which i loved it very much. I had made a birthday wish and hope it really comes true =)).

One different thing about Apple's advertisment is that it potrays the human life style which Creative didn't. Showing to the crowds that if want this kind of lifestyle get Apple ipods. It is what you do with your job manupilate it and you will be successful.
It is the way you treat yourself everyday that matters, the focus and the choices your make that makes oneself feel so honourable.
So guys must do your best in everything your do as even those little things in life are important.

One example was The story of Carl Brashear, the first African American, then also the first amputee, US Navy Diver and the man who trained him. One phrase for you guys "History is made by those who break the rules". I really respect that guy man. He was that really strong guy with super high self-esteem. Before, the US navy diver only accecpted the white americans. And one of the generals adviced him not to go for the test as he will only fail. He not only chided the general, he even continued and took the test. He was underwater and needed to assemble something, the other stdents were given a bag of tools, but for him he tools were scattered on the ocean bed and he had to look for them. He continued with it and he had the never dying spirit and did not give up, even though hyperthermia had set in. Eventually after 10 hours under the deep cold sea, he managed to complete. Even thought the tester asked to give up, you know what he said, he said No Sir i am a navy diver! When heard this i was like i really honour this guy. Eventually he became a navy diver. Continuing with his story, after a mission (saved america), he scacrificed himself to save 2 people by pushing them aside and taking the blow resulting in making him a cripple. He took so much pride in his job that he was willing to amputate his leg and have a protatic leg. He was given four weeks to prove himself worthy. He trained super hard and eventually the day came to meet the chief. His final test was to wear the full navy diving suit which is crazily heavy and able to stand on his own and walk 12 steps. This 12 steps must be one of the most difficult 12 steps in life. He perservered and completed it. The chief had no choice but to reinstated him to be a full active navy diver.The way he sat after completing the 12 steps wow was hounourable and repectful, he held his head high and sat straight. He went on with his job and passion and did not quit until 9 years later.

Beauty is just so important for girls. Would they be able to stand up and joke with honour even though they have lost it? Why worry so much about outer beauty, is the perfection of the inner beauty which is the most important.

Why live a life of illusion, how hypocritical you guys want to be. 'Putting a mask' just shows the cowardice in you, be yourself and only yourself.

All the bad ways possible how you treat your parents. Tell you guys after hearing those things, i found that i am really lucky and blissed to be able to come to this wonderful world full of mysteries. A realy precious gift of god. Anyone out there when you look at this, have a thought of your parents in mind, see how much they love you. When your parents want to talk to you, you just shut them up. WTH. Parents went through a lot. Remember the days when your mum was pregnant, she feels like vomitting everyday, as you grow older, you presses on her bladder and she would want to visit the toilet every 15-20 minutes, you know how difficult it is to imagine it? As you grow bigger you also grow heavier which cause your mum to have swollen feets. remember when they buy beautiful and handsome clothes for us when we were young? Even during delievery it is super pain, your mum had to go through 14 hours of labour. Your father had played a lot of parts in it too. Think about it, fathers always buy the things for the family rather than for themselves, it is the mother who usually spend things on herself. Fathers are strict for the children's own good. Breastfeeding is also another very painful thing. Of course it is very shiok for you la. Your mum will get sore nipples for the hours of sucking from you. Always remember the chest where your mum and dad carry you to sleep. Come on guys spend more time with your parents. Make a difference in their life, THEIR LIFES

Come let me introduce to the 1st day of the adam khoo's programme facilitated by his trainers. I can say that i have learnt quite alot from today's teaching. The one thing i lack is the high self-esteem.Hmm.. looks like alot is lost just beacuse of low self-esteem, expressing my feelings to a girl would be super hard. Self-esteem branches out to if you are lovable and capable be it in academics,sports,arts,games. It is the over concentration in our weaknesses where we overlook our strengths and capabilities that leads to low self-esteem. Hi again. looks like i am talking to myself again. Thrusdays was sports day and i had a hectic day was running the whole time. friday went under the sun for 3 hrs and got sunburn, the 2nd sunburn in a month. and guess what went for bball today and got sunburn over sunburn. the feeling was WA damn pain with my shirt on. Doing difficult things, most importantly is the attitude and the start which have the greatest impact in the outcome. Some things are just so hard to come by and once they are just by your side, you can't do anything about it. I took pek chun's father car to ntu. OMG the journey there was bad. Me and tengchow was sitting behind and we were getting more and more giddy. dun buy BMW it suks at the back.
after that and got lost in it cos it's bigg, so we asked for direction to Lt1A
Lol then when pek chun was asking for direction at a particular bus-stop, lol i was the one who found the place lol and said "There, the paper on the wall,LT1A la"
Then we saw the wenhuaying arrow pointing to the staircase just in front of us i have a nice eye sight.
We go report our names and got a file with snacks, foolscap, program booklet and notebook+ key to our room
Our room was at hall 8, damn far from the place we reported and walk damn long with our laggage.
Then we walked to the pavillion to have our lunch with my new groupmates we got along quite fast and everyone was laughing and talking group name : 天龍八部!
teng chow was with Sii inn in team 雪山飞狐 lol joker in the teapot
the group names were interesting dun kwn from wat dynasty or movie lol
My gl(group leaders) are Ji cheng(Dota playing leh), Shu yuan and Hui Yee
The first talk was on blogs and writing for 2 hours. They are like a bunch of bloggers talking.
. the talks were interesting and meaningful. THen forget liao for the first day, we also playing ice breaking like kwning our teamates names. the games were lame but nvm at least we kwn their names.
and at night, we made tang yuan and ate it ourself omg it was scary ppl make le if nvr wash hand or dig nose then gg lol.
and yea, slept at 2am cuzz we're playing chinese chess and poker. lol i go sleep with teng chow and pek chun cos friends mah and the bed was quite confortable that makes pek chun teng chow and me sleeping on 2 beds which are join together by usi left my roommate alone lol dun kwn whether is he lonely then sorry lor.

Day 2
After we had our breakfast, we had 2 talks simultaneously, one on speech and talks and another was on chinese poems
The first talk was by a DJ previously on 100.3, yangjunwei lol everyone say he handsome ok la quite true.
The first talk was meaning, teaches us the 4+4+8 methods to speak and communicate with people you know and strangers you see.(P.S i still dun dare lol)
The second one was by a professor, ahh it's dman boring and took the time to sleep anyway i sleep awhile then wake up then can cont listening the talk.
You will see half of the 250 students lying on the table sleeping
ahh then there was a show on Nie Xiao Qian
and finally after the boring talk, it was our station games, cant remember most of the games, but there were water games. lol i was standing at the side and i nvr got myself wet. woot. One more game where i was the catcher and pek chun keep on anyhow throw wa lao. i also go injured in the process zzz .After our dinner, we had activities on paper cutting, dough making it was damn nice lor interesting and got the chance to make my own. Eg. black pig lol
Ltr we also talked abt our skit performance in the last day. our topic is the mooncake festival in the future. Guess wat u kwn wat we talked of lol... we made is that the mooncake in the future is used as slimming food=)...then a long story started lol nice interesting.

Day 3
Third day was the best day and the last night
after a series of talks and Xiang shen and watching of movies such as Kung Fu, Kung Fu soccoer
Then came the hunt where we nid to find all the 7 holy books to combine into a map to save the world.
haha there was a video on all the programmers, it was reali funny lol joke it was clever of the welfare to make it so interesting. Thank you welfare
We were given a map on historical places and started off by finding the Gao shou
Went all around NTU to find the right spot and set off with our games
I like the balloon fight though its violent u kwn me rite like all those games sports kind lol.
We were tied with 4 balloons, each one on our hands and legs
and we had to attack the other three teams to burst their balloons
3,2,1 START!!
Then everyone froze there, no one moved. ai ya all so kiasu dun one to lose lol then wait for ppl come lor. The bestt defence is to attack. No one use this art of war strategy.
So some boys from our team+me attacked them, they're like tigers with with their paws, not letting us attacked those behind
Then for second round, pek chun nvr play and i played then in the end got kicked in the eye side lucky not the eye awww.. swollen and bleeding All four teams lost their flags as they were taken away by the programmers. We contined looking for the clues and places until 7.30pm

At 7.30, it's our dinner and auction time for the skit performance that we had to prepare for the next day
Woah, the dinner was like those in the weddings, dinner was served by them!
It was sumptuous, YUMYUM
We got a moon and pomelo things for our Mooncake festival performance in the future lol
but still we managed to lend those from our jie mei team( lol dun kwn how to say in eng) that we could not manage to possess
There was the cheer fight after that, everyone screamed and screamed to compete with other teams as we're cheering altogether lol the best is ji cheng such a good leader.
Woah, i had no voice after that
Then it's party time! we sang our camp song + dance, the camp song

everyone was so high as we dance along with the music, and ran around the place lol like crazy sia i also abit crazy bah lol.

after that we had to plan for our skit
all the people from our teams were not only clever, but outspoken and daring too
even the girls acted very well. Lol pek chun u kwn wat role he get lol ai ya dun wan say la ltr he go crazy
We practiced till 2.30am in the night before sleeping

Day 4
Woke up in the morning and realized that we're already late lol we oly slept like 3 hours zzz!
So we changed and walked down to the canteen
though it was drizzling in the morning, that did not demoralize everyone
We had our skit after lunch, which was western food which was different from wat we had for the past 3 days
woah fuond out that it is quite ok to perform in front of so many people
We did very well, and won one prize which is the best gu ben, best script
and them its our closing ceremony
good things always come to a end

everyone was smiling and was very happy.We all dun wan to part from each other but in the end also must. Nvm i will miss u all lol. then we all departed for home..so tired
We had to take mrt from boon lay to pasirso far but we talk and talk in the end like very short lol.
I love to go for this trip again =)

Actually yesterday wan to blog about the camp but i wan like gg tired. Whole body so pain. Awww... Overall the sec 3 camp was much better off then the sec 2 camp. The place we got to sleep had a smooth wooden floor and a few fan compared to b4 where there were many mosquitoes and the surface was rough and hard. It was very cold in the night too. We learned the 16 habits of mind through the activities and problems we solve. I love the high elements stuffs. I managed to complete the rock climbing. One activity which cause my arm to strain like siao is to carry ppl up the rock wall. Our objective was for everyone to reach the opposite the side. Pesistance, imagination is better than knowledge, finding humour...

The food was no good at all lor. ma ma so disgusting lol. Ai ya we should be contented for wat we have since there are some 3rd world countries where mmany ppl dun have food to eat.

Something bad happen during the camp. People was found smoking and things were stolen. Sian la then we had to sleep late cause all our bags had to be checked. Zzz

lol yesterday planned hao hao de then all cok up cos of ng pek chun, president of taiwan lol. Then we decided to go bugis first then talk. i reached there first then waited for chester and yunjie. Then i told them that i go buy ticket first. Then meet the president there then decided to watch the Mr Bean's holiday the movie together. Lol fated to watch the show together. The movie was at 9pm. After buying the ticket, it wan like oly 5 plus lol went to lan to buy DotA. Then had a close match with vic, ivan and chester. It was very lag and we could have won without Nichloas the feeder. Sianz. In the end no time eat dinner. Smuggled mac in the cinema. The movie was totally hilarious lol. Had a gd laugh. Fabian cousin vicky left Singapore today. Wish her gd luk in states.
